An update to my route

Hey fellows,

it’s been a while since I’ve written where I’ve been.

Short-term update: Right now I’m in Mexico. I came here at the 28th of October. More specifically, I am now 85 km south of Mexico City, in Cuernavaca. I’ll stay a little longer in this area as I am going to go to a language school.

But where have I been since my last english blog entry?

As I said, I made my way to Vancouver. Came here on a sunday night, 5:00 a.m. and felt safer than in Winnipeg.

Whatsoever, I made a big trip through the Rockies. Went to Jasper and Banff and some other, small cities. Kelowna or Hope for example. I’ve made a lot of pictures and panoramas.

Eventually, I arrived again in Vancouver. After a few days of hanging around (lot to see in that city) I made my way to Vancouver Island. Victoria was my first stop. Later I’ve rented a car and drove up to Tofino, which seems to be a surfer’s paradise. I also tried my luck and did a surfing lesson. Fun!

After the trip to the island, I came back to Vancouver and rented another car. Now I drove north of Whistler. In Whistler will be the Winter Olympics in 2010, you can feel the spirit right now. I stayed in Pemberton.

And in those days I found out that in Mexico will be the „Dia de los muertos“. Maybe you have heard of it, people celebrate their dead ancestors. It is a nice custom.

So I decided spontaneously that I will go to Mexico (it was the 27th of October). I wanted to go to a spanish speaking country anyway and this was the perfect reason to do this right now.

And I’m very happy about this. Cuernavaca is surrounded by mountains and the temperature is all year around 24°, which is amazing.

My plans are that I’ll try to go through Central America and end up eventually in Peru. But, of course, I’ll blog this. Maybe also in Spanish.

    Moin Moin Tobi,
Hoffe du schreibst öfter mal wieder was neues.
Aber bitte nicht in Spanisch ….. bitte.
    Cheerio

You have now traveled to more of Canada than I have, and I have never been to Mexico. Good job! I am glad you are enjoying your spontaneous travels!

I am at home for the holidays in between semesters at my university, so I have time to look at your blog now! Good luck with Spanish!

Hi Tobi! Tobi
